Supplier open day
Leeds City Council will not be hosting a Supplier Open Day event in 2008 however we will be represented at other events in the Yorkshire and Humber region including Wakefield's 'Meet the Buyer' event on Thursday 13th November 2008.

Last years event
Last year's event was held on Tuesday 4 December 2007 at the Holiday Inn, in Garforth, Leeds.

The event offered a forum for organisations to introduce themselves to the council and to discuss new opportunities. It also gave us a chance to find out what their views were about the way the council does business.

Council officers were available throughout the day to offer a wide range of advice on important issues such as approved list and tendering processes, e-procurement, departmental contracts, health and safety requirements and the importance of sustainability.

Presentations covered a wide range of topics, including the council’s new Charter for Procuring Community Benefits, the drive for shared services, e-procurement, purchasing cards, and guidance concerning some of the more complicated aspects of procurement process, such as TUPE arrangements and Alcatel remedies.

Suppliers also had the opportunity to talk to a number of other local authorities from across the region, including: Kirklees, Calderdale, Bradford, Barnsley, North Yorkshire, Wakefield, Harrogate, and York.
