Equal opportunities survey 2008/2009
Promoting equality and diversity through procurement is important. All groups in our communities have a right to expect that public money is spent on local services which suit their needs, that it is spent in a way that promotes equality of opportunity and delivers high quality goods and services.
We recently surveyed a random selection of 10,000 suppliers and asked questions about the owners and directors, their recruitment and employment practices, as well as questions about their workforce. The results can be found in the pdf attachment on the right hand side of this page.
Survey of contractors and suppliers 2008/2009
The contractor survey provided a random selection of 10,000 suppliers with an opportunity to comment on the services provided by Leeds City Council's Procurement Unit. The responses will be used to influence service planning for the coming year.
Barriers to trade
This information sheet has been put together to address some of the questions and issues raised in the supplier survey that was carried out in December 2008. We asked what you felt were the barriers to working with the council and you told us. The most commonly raised issues have been summarised into short questions and answers to help raise awareness and make working with the council easier.
