The Core Strategy is the principal document in the Local Development Framework and will contain the City Council’s vision and spatial strategy for the district.
It will be informed by the adopted UDP Review, the Vision for Leeds (Community Strategy) and the emerging Regional Spatial Strategy for Yorkshire and the Humber.
Core Strategy Workshops
A workshop to discuss and help identify the initial issues and options for the Core Strategy was held at the Carriageworks on 11 September 2006. Further events were also held at the Civic Hall during November.
Summaries of the outcome of the workshop discussions, and the questions to the panel at the end of the event, are available on this page.
Consultation
The Council undertook an informal consultation to identify issues and develop initial options. A copy of the discussion paper is available to read and download from this page.
The formal public consultation for the Issues and Alternative Options (Regulation 25) will be undertaken during October and November 2007.
Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report
The city council is using the sustainability appraisal process to check and improve the Core Strategy as it develops. The first stage of the sustainability appraisal process is setting the context and objectives and establishing the baseline. If you have any comments or questions on the scoping report please email us at ldf@leeds.gov.uk or you can phone Helen Miller on 0113 247 8132.
