Investing in the next generation

Work experience is vital for young people of school age so they gain an understanding of the demands and opportunities that life has to offer.

Employers in Leeds can invest in the next generation and young people who, potentially, may become future employees by supporting the Education Business Partnership

Help young people develop employability skills

The Education Business Partnership provides a range of opportunities for employer volunteers to work with schools to improve employability skill for secondary school students across Leeds. It is the main provider of creative and realistic work-related learning opportunities for children and young people in the Leeds area.

We collaborate with businesses and schools to give young people the chance to explore the world of work and develop the key skills and knowledge they will need to make a successful transition from education into employment. Employer volunteers from all levels work with young people on skills development and work-related educational activities run by the Education Business Partnership. These include the ‘Interactive Workplace’ careers event, the ‘You’re Hired!’ interview techniques training event and activities organized and run by school staff.

We run free training courses for employer volunteers who want to learn more about how to effectively engage with young people as well as free networking events for employers and teachers that are interested in helping young people develop employability skills.  We can also support employers who want to set up bespoke employability-related programmes in Leeds as part of their CSR offer.
