We are always happy to hear from potential market traders, for the indoor market or for one of our open markets.

Leeds markets has launched a 12-week business start up scheme to help budding entrepreneurs trial their business idea. For more information please see the downloads on the right hand side of this page, contact the markets office or go to www.leedsmarkets.co.uk.

There are a number of options for someone looking to become a market trader. At the Leeds Kirkgate site there is the indoor market open Monday – Saturday (400 + units) and the Open market held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – Saturday (200 + stalls).

The Markets Service also operates 3 district markets

  • Pudsey has an open market Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
  • Otley has an open market Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
  • Yeadon has an open market on a Friday

If you are interested in trading at the Open Market at Leeds Kirkgate, please download an information / application pack from the right hand side of this page. For the open market, most traders start as casual traders then progress to becoming permanent once they have decided if being a market trader is right for them.
