The yearly Capital Programme sums up our plans to build new assets and improve the ones we already own. It shows what we've spent to date and draft figures for future years, as well as where the money will come from.
The 2007-11 programme has over a billion pounds of spending plans, with £385m in 2008/09. The schemes include -
- the East Leeds Link Road and the Inner Ring Road stage 7;
- major work on the Grand Theatre, the City Varieties, and a new home for Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance;
- making our housing stock and school buildings even better;
- investment in projects leading to better service delivery and longer-term overall savings;
- smaller-scale projects allowing elected members to respond to local priorities.
