Leeds Library and Information Service is offering the British Citizenship self learn course and tests for free at your local library.
The programme will help you practice the new Citizenship and Life in the UK tests, helping you to prepare for the national test.
Also available: ‘Quick Start’ and ‘First Steps’ on your computer. These easy to use self learning basic computer and IT programmes are available in a number of languages.

If English is not your first language, we have the following services:
- Collections of books in many different languages including bi-lingual books (in English and another language)
- Library information signs in the world languages
- Multilingual software packages for word processing in 100 languages
- Worksheets which explain how to use computers, internet, email and word processing in the following languages: Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dari, Farsi, French, Gujerati, Hindi, Kurdish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Turkish and Urdu
- Library membership forms available in the above world languages
- Books and newspapers available in a variety of world languages
- Asian music CDs and films available at some libraries
- Translators can be requested for people having difficulty accessing library services
The library is a comfortable and fun meeting place where you can get involved in local projects and give your community a voice on the internet through community websites: 'Leeds Communities Online.'
Everyone can have free access to the internet and use of the latest computer facilities including networked PCs and high-tech furniture and seating:
