Planning applications - making decisions

How decisions on planning applications are taken in Leeds

Most decisions are made by senior planning officers. Larger, more complex or controversial applications may be decided by a panel of councillors. There are three plans panels – east, west and central which meet every three weeks. Panel meetings are open to the public, unless confidential matters are being considered. Decisions are always made in public

Meetings are normally held in Rooms 6 and 7 on the west wing of the first floor of the Civic Hall where an induction loop is available. A lift is available at the main entrance in Calverley Street. Orange Badge parking and meter bays are available directly outside. The main entrance has automatic doors. If you require a BSL interpreter, information relating to the Panel in large print, Braille or on tape, then please contact us to make arrangements.
