MEWBS is a project specifically aimed at helping women from minority ethnic backgrounds to enter the business community and become self employed. Minority ethnic women face greater challenges to entering the business community as they have other commitments with children and the wider family. The courses take these factors into consideration and are arranged for times convenient to this audience, providing childcare free of charge.
Four seminars run throughout the year and each one focuses on a different business topic giving advice and tips for how to start up your own business. The seminars are designed as a taster and the ten week business course follows on from them to gradually build up a business plan and get started.
The seminars are free to attend with parking, refreshments and childcare provided. These seminars run from the Leeds Thomas Danby Roundhay Road campus and are again sponsored by Natwest Bank.
