Careers in childcare and early education offer great opportunities to make a difference to local children and families. As National Government increasingly makes children and families a priority, many more people are needed to deliver care, education, and family support in local nurseries, Children’s Centres, out of school clubs, pre-schools, and as childminders.
This area of work offers genuine career progression for committed, enthusiastic people, and plenty of opportunities for professional development. The Leeds Early Years Service supports local childcare workers and playworkers by offering them extensive training, and networks of support. This can be particularly useful for people who are new to the career and do not have formal qualifications.
If you think that supporting children’s physical, social, and intellectual development in their Early Years and beyond could be the right career choice for you, then call the Early Years Service for an information pack containing information on training opportunities and current job vacancies.
We welcome contacts from all sections of the community, and would be glad to hear from men, disabled people and people from Black and Ethnic Minority groups, all of whom are not currently well represented in the workforce.
