Business continuity plan booklets and leaflets

Planning for emergencies

In April 2007 a new A4 colour booklet was produced jointly by Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.  It aims to provide information and advice to assist businesses (and residents) in Leeds city centre on how to protect their premises, staff, visitors and ultimately themselves before, during and after a major incident.  It provides practical advice and information about how the city is divided into zones for evacuation purposes, useful contact details and how to minimise the impact of an incident so that a return to normality is as swift and efficient as possible.

You can download a copy of this booklet from this page.

Business Continuity Guides from the Home Office

The Home Office, National Counter Terrorism Security Office and London Prepared have developed two guides for businesses on developing business continuity to assist companies to deal with the effects of a terrorist attack. ‘Expect the Unexpected’ looks at the wider planning framework companies should consider, while ‘Secure in the Knowledge’ concentrates on IT security.

You can download these booklets from the London Prepared website.

The Peace and Emergency Planning Unit continue to work closely with the Police and other key agencies to develop an effective counter-terrorist partnership with the business community.
