Fuelsavers Board

The Fuelsavers Board is a working group of representatives from the public, private, and voluntary sectors and aims to work towards improving energy efficiency, to reducing fuel poverty and delivering affordable warmth.

The Board’s main objectives are to

  • reduce fuel poverty
  • improve the energy efficiency of domestic dwellings
  • reduce carbon dioxide emissions
  • improvement of the energy performance of dwellings
  • increase the take-up of renewable technologies
  • increase the skills of officers who deal with housing or fuel poverty
  • improve work with other agencies
  • provide information and advice about grants and financial assistance
  • work with partner organisations to support the promotion of energy and affordable warmth
  • influence energy efficiency in homes and work
  • set up and apply best practice standards in energy efficiency and fuel poverty reduction
  • help partner organisations put these plans into their service or business plan
  • let relevant organisations know about the  Board’s actions and plans
  • help with the take-up of the Leeds Affordable Warmth Strategy actions as defined in the Annual Work Plan
  • support the integration of the Leeds Affordable Warmth Strategy Code of Practice into services
  • support the integration of the Leeds Energy Strategy ‘Warm Homes, Cool Planet’ and integration into services
