The Youth Opportunity (YOF) and Youth Capital Funds (YCF) are two pots of money given by the Government to Leeds City Council, to give to young people in Leeds. The funds are managed and given out by a young peoples’ panels. They can provide opportunities and resources for young people to spend on activities and projects that improve things to do and places to go or to develop confidence, skills and knowledge.
Young people can apply from either or both funds for amounts from £500 to £25,000 for opportunities, or anything above £2,000 for the capital fund.
The Youth opportunity fund gives groups of young people the chance to do different activities, learn new skills, visit places and much more. The Youth Capital Fund helps young people to improve the places where they meet and to buy equipment. Not everyone gets everything they want but many young people have already been successful!
