Key areas of work:
Leeds City Council operates gymnastics in 12 leisure centres across the city; Aireborough, Armley, Fearnville, Garforth, Holt Park, John Smeaton, Kirkstall, Middleton, Kippax, Rothwell, South Leeds and Scott Hall.
All coaches are employed by Leeds City Council, have current British Gymnastics qualifications, are CRB checked and have attended Leeds City Council’s child protection course.

Pre school Gymnastics Leeds has had a successful pre school gymnastics programme for over 15 years and now has one of the largest programmes in the country. The badge scheme has a set of 9 badges and is known as "Jungle gymnastics" and has two levels of class:
Gym minis - 1to2 years / 3 to4 years - Parents/guardians work and interact with the children in activities to develop gross and fine motor skills, colour/number identification, speech, social interaction, exploratory play in addition to key foundation gymnastics skills.
Gymikins – A progression from gym minis, as the children work without parents and are left with the coaches in preparation for starting nursery / school.

Recreational gymnastics classes for boys and girls from 4 to 16years.
Classes 1 to 4 are based on school years. Class 5 is a 2 hour competition class for gymnasts that have shown potential to develop skills quicker than their peers, but have not been selected to join club grades or the performance pathway. Children from all classes are assessed to be invited to selection sessions at Carnegie to join the performance programmes in men’s artistic, women’s artistic and sports acrobatics.
The Leeds Gymnastics Awards offer 3 levels of badges in floor, bars, beam and vault.

Club grades gymnasts can be selected from leisure centre classes to train on this British Gymnastics competition pathway with a regional competition framework.

Trampolining is offered at Holt Park leisure centre from 5yrs to adults.
11 weekly classes.

Competitions
All gymnasts over 6 years old have the opportunity to enter an internal class competition (floor and vault) during spring term, with a final being held in the summer term for each centre to enter a representative team. This is organised by the Sports Development unit. Internal competitions are held with over 500 gymnasts entering in total, and 180 gymnasts represent their centres at the final.
