We manage around 4,000 hectares of parks and greenspaces in Leeds including parks, public rights of way, cemeteries and crematoria, closed churchyards, floral displays, trees and allotments.

Parks, gardens and open spaces 
There are seven major parks in Leeds

There are also a number of community parks, playgrounds and skateparks and areas of local green space as well as nature conservation sites and woodlands.

Outdoor sport
We provide sports pitches in Leeds and maintain a large number of school sports pitches. We look after bowling greens and our four golf courses at Middleton, Roundhay, Gotts and Temple Newsam. We help with a wide range of outdoor sports and recreational activities including angling, athletics, tennis, basketball, khabaddi, outdoor chess, cycling, water sports, rock climbing, orienteering, sailing, running, boules and general physical activity, walking and exercise.

Cemeteries and crematoria
There are 22 open cemeteries and three crematoria in the Leeds and we are also responsible for 21 closed church yards.

Nursery
- we produce four million bedding plants each year (around 95 per cent from seed), 5,000 hanging baskets and 8,000 cut flower arrangements.

ParksWatch - a team of motorcycle rangers who patrol parks and open spaces in Leeds. They aim to provide a safe environment for parks, open spaces and cemeteries. This includes play areas, sports pitches and other areas of land used for recreation.

Rangers – our Countryside Rangers work in parks and green spaces all over Leeds, supporting community groups, working with schools and helping people get the most out of their local environment.  For further information see the link to the Rangers web page on the right, or call us on 0113 237 5320.  There are also security rangers based at Roundhay Park.
