Choice of Ceremonies

We offer a choice of 3 ceremonies, Options 1, 2 and 3.

Civil Partnership Ceremony Option 1

Good morning/afternoon. My name is xxx and on behalf of Leeds City Council it is my pleasure to welcome you all to Leeds Town Hall.

Today is a very special occasion for xxx and xxx  as we are here to celebrate their partnership ceremony.

Xxx and xxx have chosen to pledge themselves to each other by committing to a legal and binding contract, a civil partnership. Their partnership will enable the love and respect that they have for each other to grow into a secure and lasting relationship.

We trust that you will show them your support and encouragement, today and always

If any person present knows of any lawful reason why they may not form a civil partnership please declare it now.

Xxx and xxx before you are joined in partnership I must first remind you of the solemn and binding character of the vows you are about to make. I am going to ask each of you in turn to declare that you know of no lawful impediment to your partnership.

 (Registrar) xxx are you free to commit yourself to a partnership with xxx?

Now the solemn moment has come for xxx and xxx to make their partnership vows to each other before you, their witnesses and to exchange their rings.

Today signifies a new beginning for you both in your life together. I now invite you to come forward along with your witnesses to sign the partnership contract.
