Accommodation services are available for older people, disabled people and people with mental health needs who are unable to live independently and safely in their own homes.
All our homes are staffed 24 hours a day. We also arrange for GPs and community nurses to continue to provide health care for residents as if they were living in their own homes.

If you are assessed as needing residential or nursing home care you'll be asked to complete a form about your financial position. This lets us work out how much you can afford to pay. Read more about paying for residential care.
Sheltered housing
There are a number of sheltered housing schemes available in Leeds. Sheltered accommodation is different from other housing as it is specifically for older people. Most sheltered housing schemes have a resident warden and an alarm system in case of emergency. Read more about sheltered housing
Extra care housing
Extra care housing allows people who require care support to continue to live as part of the wider community. Extra care offers fully independent living in a self-contained flat, with 24-hour care services available if you need them. Read more about extra care housing.
Nursing homes
Nursing homes provide more medical and nursing care than residential homes, for people who have greater care needs. In Leeds these are run independently from the council.

Hospices provide palliative care for patients with life-threatening illnesses, along with help and advice for carers. We can also help you if you decide to stay in your own home while receiving care. Read more about end-of-life care
