The focus of the Public Private Partnerships Unit (PPPU) is to take the strategic lead on behalf of Leeds City Council with regard to partnership opportunities, and to provide guidance and support to individual departments on projects they wish to promote.

The unit’s work is primarily based around an intensive procurement programme focussing upon the government’s PFI (Private Finance Initiative) agenda.

Our exciting and challenging projects include:

  • The re-furbishing/re-building of 38 schools in Leeds by September 2011
  • 80% of Street Lights to be replaced in Leeds by 2011
  • 343 adult bed spaces across 71 units of accommodation to be provided by June 2011
  • Work is due to start early January 2010 to re-furbish 1,131 Council homes and construct 475 new homes

To find out more information about the Unit and projects we are involved in please download the Background Information document and view the Projects in Leeds and News page.
