Well Being Centre Holt Park Project

This proposal involves the construction of a Well Being Centre combining Adult Social Care, leisure facilities and community space to replace the Holt Park leisure Centre.

An Expression of Interest (EOI) was submitted by the Council and the Department of Health (DoH) for £32m of PFI credits in May 2008 and agreed in October 2008. Outline planning permission was approved in September 2009 and the Outline Business Case (OBC) was submitted in September 2009 and the Project Review Group (PRG)approved the project on the 12th February 2010 with PFI credits of £30.676m.

Procurement was completed in June 2010 and the Final Business Case submitted to the Department of Health (DoH) for review June 2010. DoH reviewed the FBC and all the queries and clarifications were agreed with approval pending the outcome of the Government spending review. The DoH confirmed on 12th April 2011 that the project should proceed to Financial close, anticipated in June 2011 with the building opening to the public during the summer of 2013.
