This project involves replacing and maintaining the street lighting across the whole of the Leeds Metropolitan District. 80 per cent of the existing street lighting will be replaced within the first five years of the 25-year contract.
The project became operational on 3 July 2006 with a total of £106m capital invested.
The five-year programme of street light replacements is forecast to finish on schedule in July 2011, by which time 80,000 street lights will have been replaced.
