This proposal involves developing two new Divisional Headquarters with associated custody suites, one for the Wakefield Division and the other for the City and Holbeck (South Leeds) Division. It also includes a Specialist Operational Training Facility including Public Order, Driver and Firearms Training at the existing Carr Gate site, Wakefield.
The Outline Business Case (OBC) was submitted to the Home Office in November 2009, the Project Review Group (PRG) in March 2010 and then the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) in April 2010. In June 2010 the Home Office granted permission for West Yorkshire Police to continue with these PFI projects by endorsing the allocation of £216m of credits to the PFI Programme and Estates Strategy. Financial Close is programmed for May 2012 with phased services availability from December 2013 onwards.
