This project involves replacing and maintaining the street lighting across the whole of the Leeds Metropolitan District. 80% of the existing street lighting will be replaced within the first five years of the 25 year contract.
The project became operational on the 3rd July 2006 with a total of £106m capital invested.
By July 2009, some 41,500 lighting columns had been replaced with a further estimated 38,500 to be completed across the city by July 2011.
