The Sport and Active Recreation Service in Leeds City Council will continue to operate the sport and leisure programme within the buildings.

The New Leaf Project will upgrade and replace two leisure centres with fit for purpose modern facilities for the 21st century comprising 25m and learner pools, a hydrotherapy pool at Armley, sports halls, bodyline gyms, studios, meeting rooms and café/bar facilities.

The Leeds Vision for the New Leaf Leisure Centres (NLLC) PFI project is pivotal in delivering the Council’s aspirations to link health, learning, sport and active recreation in modern, accessible and flexible buildings. The work has commenced on site and the centres will be operational by April and June 2010.
