The focus of the Public Private Partnerships Unit (PPPU) is to take the strategic lead on behalf of Leeds City Council with regard to partnership opportunities, and to provide guidance and support to individual departments on projects they wish to promote.
The unit’s work is primarily based around an intensive procurement programme focussing upon the government’s PFI (Private Finance Initiative) agenda.
Our exciting and challenging projects include:
- The re-furbishing/re-building of 38 schools in Leeds by December 2009
- 80% of Street Lights to be replaced in Leeds by 2011
- 343 adult bed spaces across 71 units of accommodation to be provided by February 2009
- 922 Council homes to be re-furbished and 125 new homes will be constructed by December 2009
