Leeds Communities Online is a project to develop community websites, managed by the Library and Information Service. 31 ward based websites for Leeds residents were launched in December 2003. Each site contains information about the local area, events and things that are happening in the community, as well as links to a wide range of information, both local and national.

Local residents can make things happen by contributing information, either online or by providing paper copy to staff at their local library, who will input the information on to the site. Tell people about activities, invite them to take part or get involved. Local events can be publicised, community newsletters posted and there are forums and polls facilities on each site to raise local issues and find out what other people think.
